Glenn Patterson
Glenn Patterson is the author of seven acclaimed novels, Burning Your Own (winner of the Rooney Prize and Betty Trask First Novel Prize), Fat Lad, Big Thunder Mountain, The International, Number Five, That Which Was and The Third Party. He has also published two works of non fiction, Lapsed Protestant, a collection of his journalism and, Once Upon A Hill, the story of his grandparents who came from different sides of the sectarian divide in Northern Ireland.
He has made numerous documentaries for, among others, Channel 4, BBC4 and RTE. He currently teaches on the MA in Creative Writing at Queen’s University Belfast. Will Self recently wrote, 'Glenn Patterson is Northern Ireland's prose laureate. His writing is as compelling as it is compassionate.’ He is currently at work on a new novel and various film and television scripts. He received the Lannan Foundation Literary Award in 2008.
